The River Cabin is perched on a bank above a bend in the Pecos River. There is no better place than the deck for a cup of coffee or an evening happy hour. Guests have shared mornings with deer, turkeys, ducks, and (once) a mountain lion prowling the river bank. The Cabin has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with a double bed and bunks), a sleeper sofa, a kitchen, and full bath. We can provide bed and bath linens if desired, and while your visit is self-catered, we can help arrange for a ranch cook for a few nights if you'd prefer to relax after a day on the river.
The River Cabin provides easy, private access to the river for fishing, swimming, rafting, and kayaking. Enjoy the two miles on the ranch or take a day and paddle to the pullout at the Pandale crossing (we can help arrange shuttle service). In addition, the river canyon portion of the ranch offers 1,000 acres for outdoor recreation: cliffs, canyons, caves, wildlife photography, hiking, mountain biking, birding, drone flying, etc.
Note that the ranch road to the River Cabin is maintained, but it's not paved, except for one short steep section. It's passable without 4WD, but we require guests to have 4WD vehicles to be more certain of easy trips down and back.
