Enjoy outstanding private access fishing on two miles of the Lower Pecos River in West Texas. This is a wild and remote river (check out "The Great Texas Fishing Safari" at https://www.texasmonthly.com/t...). The only public access to the Lower Pecos is the Pandale Crossing, miles below the ranch. Apart from private ranch access, the only way to explore and fish this iconic river is to commit to a nearly week-long paddle trip. That's an epic adventure worth considering, but more than most people want to commit to. (If you do, check out our partners at Far West Texas Outfitters (https://farwesttexasoutfitters...) or Expedition Outfitters (https://expedition-outfitters....) and read Lower Pecos River: Pandale to Lake Amistad, https://a.co/d/3PUsSDE.) Our guest house is clean and comfortable, with a porch looking over the river, two bedrooms, a full bath, and kitchen. It's a fishing camp, without the camping! And it offers easy access bank and kayak fishing for catfish, bass, drum, carp, and gar. You can fish our two miles of river or take a day and paddle down to the Pandale Crossing (we can help arrange a shuttle back to the River Cabin).
In addition to fishing, the river canyon portion of the Bar K provides excellent hunting for wild hogs and other varmints and predators and 1,000 acres of cliffs, canyons, breaks, brush, and oak thickets. There are two established blinds, several water troughs, numerous draws, and ATV trails through thick mesquite and brush. We offer only a few hunting opportunities for a limited number of guns each year, so call early if you're interested.
The Bar K is a low fence ranch (and most of the neighors are large, low fence ranches, too). We have worked to improve habitat and protect our native wildlife. We book only one small group at a time and for only a few days each month to protect our resources and ensure a quality experience. Most adventures on the Bar K Ranch are self-guided, but we can point you to the most productive areas. You can also arrange for a guided fishing trip based out of our River Cabin with one of our partners: Far West Texas Outfitters (https://farwesttexasoutfitters...) or Expedition Outfitters (https://expedition-outfitters....).
